Class teacher, Tricia Whitmarsh
About me, I started crafting at the age of 10 on a family holiday where it rained constantly for a fortnight. An aunty taught me to crochet to give me something to do, so for the next few years I did a roaring trade in baby clothes, shawls, mats etc. for friends and family. As a teenager I started making my own clothes and customising shop bought clothes for fun. I got in to card making at college were I made cards for friends and family as I didn't have the money to buy them. When I went to work I used to do cross stitch in the evening to relax while watching the TV.
My Passion... I love sewing, using fabric and making small items but also embellishing cards with threads and beads. Crafts I do... You name it I do it, have done it or would love to do it if only I had the time! • Sewing • Patchwork • Quilting • Sewing on Cards • Card making - All types • Origami • Iris folding • Beading and Jewellery making • Rubber stamping • Embossing on paper and metal • Paper pricking • Pergamano or parchment craft • Pressed flowers • Quilling - especially fringed flowers • Ribbon embroidery • Ribbon weaving • Serviette or napkin art • Decoupage • 3D Decoupage • Stencilling • Collage • Calligraphy • Cross Stitch • Embroidery • Teabag folding • Scrapbooking or Memory Albums • Crochet Crafts I don't do... Knitting - because crochet is so much quicker but there are so many more knitting patterns that I might be tempted. Quote I get a real sense of satisfaction showing someone how to do something and seeing their delight in achieving what they thought they could not do. If it's new I want to try it...
